Tiramisu Cake Recipe

Total Time: 2 hr 25 min

 Prep 25 min

 Inactive 2 hr 0 min
 Yield: 6 servings
  Level:Easy

Ingredients

  • *6 egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 pound mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups strong espresso, cooled
  • 2 teaspoons dark rum
  • 24 packaged ladyfingers
  • 1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate shavings, for garnish

Directions

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer with whisk attachment, beat egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale, about 5 minutes. Add mascarpone (RICOTTA) cheese and beat until smooth. Add 1 tablespoon of espresso and mix until thoroughly combined.
In a small shallow dish, add remaining espresso and rum. Dip each ladyfinger into espresso for only 5 seconds. Letting the ladyfingers soak too long will cause them to fall apart. Place the soaked ladyfinger on the bottom of a 13 by 9 inch baking dish, breaking them in half if necessary in order to fit the bottom.
Spread evenly 1/2 of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Arrange another layer of soaked ladyfingers and top with remaining mascarpone mixture.
Cover tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, up to 8 hours.
Before serving, sprinkle with chocolate shavings.

Why not to follow Michelle Obama (first Lady ) fashion?

I think Michelle Obama show to many people specially women to dress in a budget . My mom theory was :"Its doesn’t matter where you buy your clothes . If how the clothes looked on you”.  In another words it doesn’t matter where you buy your clothes could be the most expensive clothes in the world but if you don’t know how to wear it Forget it you always will looked cheap. !!!!!  its very true I have friends that love to said where they buy they clothes and when you see them wear it , uhmmm I have a big ? marked in my mind.

Well I thought I was the only crazy cheap woman in the world to go and buy clothes , But how about Michelle Obama she is the First Lady and she go to Target to buy clothes , Old navy , J crew , Gap, Payless, etc, etc.

I started looked what kind of clothes she wear and I saw that she wear really nice clothes, now my question is Does clothes don’t looked cheap?,they look very expensive?.
I read also that Michelle Obama show her two daughters to do the same to be smart with the money when they buy clothes . Not only that but she also is very discrete of how to wear her clothes but at the same time she is fun too when she need to be fun with her clothes.

Like always I started searching the Internet and see it was REAL for example Target their clothes are very affordable price !!! ,Jcrew just go to the clearance section you will find great item for at lot a less and Old Navy forget it, you can find clothes even for $1.00, same with the other stores .

So I guess I’m not the only crazy one who like to go and buy in “cheap” stores and have fun to wear it. If Michelle Obama do it , why not me? ...

So tried it out go to this stores is really fun to buy and save a LOT $$$$$$$.:-)

Knitting time!!!

Since I was small I learn how to crochet and knitting!!! . At first was kind of boring but when I started to make my Barbies little hat and their carpet ,blankets was really fun. Today I like to knitting but in a bigger size for example  I did my son a scarf and now I'm doing my daughter pink thick long scarf.
Knitting :The word is derived from knot, thought to originate from the Dutch verb knutten, which is similar to the Old English cnyttan, to knot. Is a method by which thread or yarn may be turned into cloth or other fine crafts. Knitted fabric consists of consecutive rows of loops, called stitches. As each row progresses, a new loop is pulled through an existing loop. The active stitches are held on a needle until another loop can be passed through them. This process eventually results in a final product, often a garment.

There is a lot of You Tube free classes of how to knit and sometimes there is classes is local store where they sale the yarn.
As like I said before is very good , strees free and your day will be pass fast!!!!, Im still working in my daughters scarf she want it very long even she a tiny girl.

Here pics of my daughters scarf that im still knitting!!!.

Flea Markets are the old & new IN!!!!!!!!!!

Who don’t love a flea markets?,When I was a teenager I used to go to flea markets with my mom in Queens and Long Island New York.
I used to buy everything from a piece of cake until designer brand clothes, sometimes fake sometime original pieces. We used to go every Tuesday, Saturday and Sundays so yeah you can called me a flea market freak (LOL). Friends used to look at me like I was the cheapest person in the world, and I was feeling the richest girl buying beautiful brand new clothes for all the occasions.
Flea Markets are inexpensive or secondhand goods are sold or bartered or brand new clothes.
Where the flea markets where origins?
The origins of the term are disputed, but according to one theory the Fly Market in 18th century New York City began the association. The Dutch word Vlaie, or vlie, with the v being pronounced f, meaning a swamp or valley, was located at Maiden Lane near the East River in Manhattan. The land on which the market stood was originally a salt marsh with a brook. By the early 1800's the "Fly Market" was the principal market in New York City.
There is great flea markets in different states:
  • Alameda Flea Market (California)
  • The Long Beach Outdoor Antique & Collectible Market Long Beach California
  • The Rose Bowl Flea Market is in southern California
  • The Shipshewana Auction & Flea Market Indiana.
  • The Springfield Antique Show & Flea Market in Springfield, Ohio.
  • The Brimfield Antique and Flea Market Shows make up the largest outdoor antique show in the United States.
  • The Brooklyn Flea is a favorite stomping ground for New York City area treasure hunters.
  • GreenFlea Market on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
  • Daytona Flea & Farmers Market in Daytona Beach, Florida .
  • First Monday Trade Days - sometimes called the Canton Flea Market Texas.
As you can see flea markets are all over United States were they sale  food to clothes for your dogs. Sometimes vendors tried to be “smart” in selling you item over priced , but maybe if you keep walking can find the same item for less or better yet make an offer and they are very flexible with prices just show your best weapon a nice cute puppy face with smile (:-) ) . Also dont forget to wear you better comfy shoes as sneakers and   a lot cash, remember they only accept cash green(money), bring a friend and have fun in your flea market journey.
I'm still go to flea markets and I get good bargains and rare items for my house , my kids love to go to and my husband is a great fanatic of Flea Markets.
More info about Flea Markets check these site http://www.findafleamarket.com/

LUPUS!!!!!!!

Lupus:Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a long-term autoimmune disorder that may affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs.Today I'm writing about something more serious , Lupus..... .
I have many close friends suffer from lupus and this week is dedicated to them :-).

Lupus Erythematosus Specific Skin Disease :These are scarring, coin-shaped lesions commonly seen in areas of skin that are exposed to light, such as the scalp and ears, and the central portion of the face and nose. More rarely, your lips, mouth, and tongue might be involved These lesions can produce a scarring baldness.

Lupus Profundus:This is a rare type of skin lupus erythematosus in which the subcutaneous fat is involved giving rise at at first to tender nodules that can leave, in time, saucer like depressions in the skin surface This type most commonly affects the upper arms and trunk.

Acute Lutaneous Lupus Lesions :The malar rash or butterfly rash occurs in association with systemic lupus erythematosus It may vary in degree from a mild redness or "rosy cheeks to multiple swollen red areas or plaques.

Lupus Erythematosus , Non-Specific Skin Disease :skin changes that are noted in some patients with lupus erytheamtosus but also occur in many patients without lupus erythematosus. Thus having one of the conditions listed below does not mean that there is a predisposition to developing lupus erythematosus.

Hair loss:Vasculitis:Varied skin manifestations:

Raynaud's phenomenon: This is the blanching of the skin of the fingers and toes when exposed to cold and may be followed by a blue or red discoloration.

Chilblains: This is a cold induced injury that results in tender nodules and plaques on the fingers and toes.

All people with lupus have mild to extreme fatigue, people with lupus report that joint and muscle pain was their first sign of the disease. Joints may be red and warm, and may swell,Most people with lupus develop skin rashes. These rashes are often an important clue to the diagnosis,Exposure to ultraviolet light (such as sunlight or tanning parlors) typically worsens the skin rash and can trigger lupus flares,People with lupus may experience periods of hair loss.

What you can do to feel better?
Get Regular Exercise to Boost Energy, walk everyday at least for 15 minutes.
Get Enough Rest to Prevent Fatigue, sleep your 8hrs,Take time to relax before bedtime. A warm shower or bath can help.
Keeping an activity schedule for day-to-day basics can be a way to help organize your time. This way, you can plan for the things you need to do and make sure you have enough time to rest in between.
Follow this technique your life can be a little better.

Always check with your primary doctor, and if you have a friends with this sickness just be patience with them.

I do not have the sickness , and I do not know pain is thee sickness but I know how to give time to my friends and trying to understand them.

More Info please go to www.lupus.org.

How I clean my microwave!!!!

I'm always write about make up and fashion shows and vacations and nice parks etc, But today I want to do something different I promise to write a little bit of everything and I seeing people not interesting when you talk about reality, like allergies, nice parks etc.
Today I 'm writing about how to clean your microwave, Yes !!! Microwave why???? well because we as human we used almost 99% of our day everyday , average 6X times a day, 7days a week.

We cook in microwave, defrost, warm, food, drinks, wash babies bottles, warm babies milk. I don't have small babies anymore , but I warm milk for my coffee, dinner for husband, some drinks water etc, etc, etc. Is very important for me to keep the microwave very clean here the thee ways I do it:
  1. I use a glass bowl with water with lemon juice and put them inside the microwave for 2 ½ minutes after you done, just let be inside in the microwave to cool down for 1 minute , open the microwave door and with a clean sponge or rag clean the 4 walls of the microwave, you microwave will be nice , clean, and smell so good.
  2. Use a glass bowl with water with Vinegar and put them inside the microwave for 2 ½ minutes after you done, just let be inside in the microwave to cool down for 1 minute , open the microwave door and with a clean sponge or rag clean the 4 walls of the microwave, you microwave will be nice , clean, and smell so good too.
  3. For everyday cleaning grab a clean rag wet it with a hot water or warm water ( I prefer hot) and some lemon juice and after every used just wiped out and your microwave will be always clean and smell good.
The first two you can do it every week I do it every week part of my deep cleaning , and a day after when I have a party I hope this will help up to maintain your micro happy!!!

High Line Park

This Year we trying to do something different with some friends, my husband and I decide to go downtown Manhattan , and take our friends to this wonderful park called High Line Park.

For some of our readers maybe you don't know where is that well dears fellows is in the Big Apple New York City , Manhattan Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues Gansevoort Street to West 20th Street. between West 20th and West 30th Streets. Its kind of confused, but is really easy to get there.

Need really a comfort shoes because you will do a lot of walk but is worthy, the view downtown is magnificent . Before that let give you a little bit of history taken from the Wikipedia .

In 1847, where the construction in New york City the street-level railroad tracks down Manhattan’s West Side, were after some many accidents the called the Death Avenue, them after so many talks in 1929 NYC approved to reopen the tracks , in 1934 the train will be pass again originally ran from 34th Street to St. John's Park Terminal at Spring Street.
It connected directly to factories and warehouses, allowing trains to roll right inside buildings. Milk, meat, produce, and raw and manufactured goods could be transported and unloaded without disturbing traffic on the streets. The last train ran in 1980 with three carloads of frozen turkeys.
But in 1999, neighborhood residents Robert Hammond and Joshua David created the community group Friends of the High Line to push the idea of turning the High Line into an elevated park or
greenway, similar to the Promenade Plantée in Paris.June 8, 2009 was the dream come true where open to the public and this summer 2011 the open to the public the last part of the tracks .
The Park is 1mile of long walk so is a good place to run :-), But not only that its have the most beautiful flowers and ornamental grass, and of course trees is practically a big yard that you can dream
They also have inside the park a food courtyard or porch as they called them. Not only that but they have very modern unique lounge chairs, bench etc. Thursday nights in the summer they have dance and live music , we didn’t do it this summer but next summer 2012 we will do.
So if you need more info about the park here is they web:http://www.thehighline.org.
I hope you enjoy this article and here some pics that we took in the park.

Somebody feet , he was taking a nap!!!!

A View from the top of the Park the guy with a hat is our friend.

Another wonderful view

You can also see what can been gowth in top of the train rails.

Its fun too to go down and walk around !!!

See how beautiful its the yard.

How I can tell if my skin tone is warm or cool?

I'm usually I asked this question every time I'm going to shopping for clothes or make up , it is really a headache :-(. But yesterday I was happy when I saw in T.V. in the Spanish channel an ex-model talking about how to find what kind of skin tone am I. Here are her tips:
There is three different skin tones:

Warm, Cool, Neutral

Maybe you can said that you already know that , but many women like me don't know everything , but this wonderful steps you can find out, let keep reading:
  1. Get dress in white and grab your hair in a pony tail or just put a white towel around your hair, no make up and stand in front of the mirror in a light room .
  2. Now Look your face very close and if you see yellowish you are a warm skin tones, if you see more light greenish ( OLIVE) your are more you are also warm skin tones .
  3. If you see that you are more pink, blue, that mean that you are cool skin tones.

Neutral skin tones professionals said that the best skin tones because everything match perfect.

Vein Test: What ???? Noooo !!!!!I don’t like to see my veins, But is the perfect way to see it, the test is very easy go to a place where you have the more natural light in the house ex: the yard is a very good place , now look at your arm and wrist here how its works veins appear to be green or greenish its means that you are a warm skin tones and the veins that more blue you are a cool tones.

Another way is tried to get different piece of fabric and stand in the mirror and see what is better for you .

Well I “m glad I was watching the Spanish channel and that model was very helpful . Her tips really are working for me , I saw my veins & I saw greenish so I am a warm color as Jennifer Lopez & Jessica Alba .
I hope I can be helpful too to all my friends here in my blog .

Here some Famous women with different skin tone ,

Jennifer Lopez  Warm skin tone

Jada Smith Warm skin tone

Cameron Diaz Cool skin tone
Madonna Cool skin tone

Allergies!!!!!

Allergy
Is a hypersensitivity disorder of the immune system.[1] Allergic reactions occur to normally harmless environmental substances known as allergens; these reactions are acquired, predictable, and rapid. Strictly, allergy is one of four forms of hypersensitivity and is called type I (or immediate) hypersensitivity. It is characterized by excessive activation of certain white blood cells called mast cells and basophils by a type of antibody known as IgE, resulting in an extreme inflammatory response. Common allergic reactions include eczema, hives, hay fever, asthma attacks, food allergies, and reactions to the venom of stinging insects such as wasps and bees.[2]
Mild allergies like hay fever are highly prevalent in the human population and cause symptoms such as allergic conjunctivitis, itchiness, and runny nose. Allergies can play a major role in conditions such as asthma. In some people, severe allergies to environmental or dietary allergens or to medication may result in life-threatening anaphylactic reactions.
A variety of tests now exist to diagnose allergic conditions; these include testing the skin for responses to known allergens or analyzing the blood for the presence and levels of allergen-specific IgE. Treatments for allergies include allergen avoidance, use of anti-histamines, steroids, or other oral medications, immunotherapy to desensitize the response to allergen, and targeted therapy. (Wikipidia)

The time is Autum  thru  Spring  :-( , Not happy with that info , I suffer from severe allergies . Good news , I'm not the only one who suffer from allergies is also 40 million Americans that suffer from allergies too.

What we can do about it?
Well me I just take medicine from the counter like Clarityn its really help me, for other people I recommend to go to the doctor and asked what is the best for them .Also people use acupuncture, but like I said before please check with your doctor.

How about children?
Yes , children suffer from allergies too, but  like I said before check with your children doctor (pediatrician).

How I can feel better?
Well drink a really and the best hot tea, it's really help to feel a little better, try to use soft tissue for your nose  fluffy P.J.'s and stay in bed all day ( if you can).Better yet let you hubby  to give you a lot of love :-).

I hope you can enjoy this little posting !!!!! and have a wonderful Allergies free!!!

A great wonderful weekend!!!!

Who don't love weekendsssss!!!!
I love weekends why?... Well  my husband and my two kids we go to different places, or we invited friends over. But lately during this few weekends really we don't go to  places, because of the  severe snow storms, but it's really do not stop me or my family of do or go out.Specially me I'm enjoyed the snow or example one good idea is taking  pictures and see how nature is so lovely even in the blue days.
Really you don't have to be a expert in taken pictures, or have the $600.00 dollars camera to take pictures, just go out and start taken pictures  even with your cellphone camera, just be create with your own pictures.
So enjoy , the blue days to walk or drive in the car and take picture and enjoy it the cold, and remember that spring is around the corner.

Happy winter day!!!

Madam Idea
